Brewery Field Volunteering

We are normally on the field a couple of times each month and would love it if you would join us!

We hope to eventually use these sessions for teaching new skills and learning about the flora and fauna, but we also need your help to improve and maintain the site. Above all, we want these sessions to be enjoyable and fun – the Friends of Duxford Green Spaces (FODGS) community is growing all the time.

You don’t have to be a FODGS member to volunteer, but we would love it if you would consider joining. 100% of your small membership fee will be used to improve Duxford’s green spaces and in return, we will keep up to date with all the goings on.

The jobs that need doing include: pruning our young trees, mulching, weeding, watering and planting – there will always be someone to help you get started. Bring along gardening gloves, your spade/fork/trowel and even a wheelbarrow if you can – if not, come along anyway!

There are also some general maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaky guttering and broken structures that you might be able to help with.

We now have a borehole on site, which makes the watering task a lot easier – though it takes some effort to move 180m of hosepipe around!

Please email us if you would like to be kept informed when we are planning to be working. We also have a Whatsapp BF volunteer group if you are willing to share your contact details info@friendsofduxfordgreenspaces.org
